Documentary on the Construction of the MONACO Gas Pipeline
Client and Project
bayernets GmbH, headquartered in Munich, operates natural gas transmission pipelines. A major natural gas transmission pipeline project in southern Germany was to be documented on film, with the goal of going beyond a mere depiction of individual work steps to also convey the special construction measures and the sheer scale of the civil engineering project, thereby achieving an additional positive impact on the company’s image.
Strategy
Filming presented the team with a variety of challenges: weather conditions, delays in the construction schedule, and limited time windows for certain tasks required spontaneous reorganization while adhering to safety regulations.
A team consisting of a director, two camera operators, a drone operator, and an assistant was on site.
Implementation
The result is aerial shots taken from a great height, overviews of construction sites, and numerous close-ups of people and machinery that add emotional depth.
The narrative structure follows the chronological sequence of the construction work and incorporates specific construction phases as well as striking images; the narrator’s text uses comparisons to bring the project’s scale to life.
Result
The film won an award in the “Triumph” category at the 2019 Global Trend Awards.
