Logo Design and Basic Branding: Geoastronomy
Project duration: March 2026 – June 2026
From March through June 2026, MWIMMERDESIGN developed a logo and basic branding for the Geoastronomy Project, a transdisciplinary research team spanning three institutes that investigates the chemical fundamentals of rocky planets orbiting sun-like stars.
Client and Project
The Geoastronomy Project is a transdisciplinary research team investigating the chemical fundamentals of rocky planets orbiting Sun-like stars. It is based at three institutions: the Bavarian Geosciences Institute (BGI) in Bayreuth, the CNRS in Orléans, and LMU in Munich, and brings together more than 40 researchers from the core institutions and beyond.
MWIMMERDESIGN was tasked with developing the logo and basic branding for the project. The collaboration took place from March through June 2026.
Implementation
The result is a logo available in several variations (solid black, in yellow and blue, each with and without a tagline) as well as a dedicated design system comprising colors, typefaces, and graphic elements. The brand book documents the colors, graphic elements, and visual style to ensure consistent application of the branding.
The following were delivered:
Basic branding includes, among other things, poster design, lanyards, and name tags for events; elements for the project website (event teasers, contact forms, quote displays); and the brand book.
