Brand Identity for the Biotech Company Cellectis
MWIMMERDESIGN has developed a design package for the Paris-based biotechnology company Cellectis, consisting of flyers, brochures, newsletters, advertisements, and banners for international brand and product communication.
The key visuals – style-defining branding elements for the Cellectis design

Client and Project
Cellectis Bioresearch is a biotechnology company with offices in Paris and Cambridge (U.S.) and between 100 and 500 employees.
MWIMMERDESIGN’s task was to establish and expand the brand image in the scientific community and to develop benefit-oriented product communication for the company’s TALEN technology.
Background
Based on the existing company logo, as well as proposals for typography and a key visual, a consistent visual identity was to be developed for the company and its product advertising.
The goal was to create a corporate design system that would appeal to biotechnology researchers worldwide and set the company apart from its competitors.
Procedure
The various communication materials were produced through international collaboration: with the company’s marketing teams in France, Switzerland, Sweden, the U.S., and Germany; a web agency in England and Serbia; an online marketing agency in Munich; and printing companies in the U.S. and France.
Online tools such as Trello were used for project management, communication, and data transfer. A look and feel designed to stand out from competitors’ communications was created using 3D-generated background images; the striking key visuals ensure brand recognition across all communication channels, from product packaging and product flyers to online banners and newsletters.
Another component consists of specially designed schematic illustrations, diagrams, and infographics that depict how Cellectis’ DNA editing products work.
Result
This gave rise to a phenomenon that was unusual in the scientific community within the field of high-end genetic research.
The combination of the individual design elements made it possible to design all communication materials in a way that was both brand-consistent and functional, and to adapt them for global use.
The following were delivered:
The design package includes, among other things, key visuals, packaging design, brochures (such as “Genome Customization”), a roll-up banner, web banners, and the homepage of the corporate website.
