Soccer Sphere – a Big, Round Affair

mwimmerdesign designed the projection onto the 12 m "Soccer Sphere" for the opening ceremony of the Arabian Gulf Cup 2007.

The "Soccer Sphere" was decorated with a compositing of film shots and graphical elements, and contrasted the topics of football and nature elements. A particular challenge was presented in creating a seamless film, which was projected all around the ball using several projectors without any perceptible transitions.
